The Municipality of Farsala, through the GR-ENERGY project, is proceeding with the implementation of modern and innovative Energy-Saving and Renewable Energy technologies in the Cultural Centre of the region. The Cultural Center of the Municipality of Farsala is the main cultural infrastructure of the area which hosts a number of structures and on a daily basis cultural activities, events, classes and guided tours take place with the aim of promoting the spirit, art, letters and cultural heritage of the Municipality.
In the framework of the GR-ENERGY Programme, the Municipality implements building interventions aiming at the energy upgrade of the building to energy category B+ and the creation of a model environmental education park. The building interventions include:- Installation of insulation on the roof of the building.
- Installation of insulation in the building envelope.
- Replacement of conventional lamps with LED technology lamps.
- Replacement of frames with modern energy frames and double glazing.
- Installation of BEMS Energy Consumption Recording System.
- Installation of a photovoltaic system with a nominal power of 20kWp.
An environmental education park will be created in the outdoor area of the Cultural Centre to familiarize citizens with issues of improving energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies. This Park will be in harmony with the natural environment and will include two solar charging stations for electric cars with a nominal power of 10 kWp each, two solar shelters of circular type with a capacity of 10 kWp each, autonomous lighting in the surrounding area and a demonstration RES intervention to be used for educational purposes. The RES demonstration intervention will include a small-scale integrated photovoltaic (PV) installation of 1 kWp, where its data will be transferred to a suitably designed room of the Cultural Centre for the purpose of organizing seminars and educational workshops.
